FVA - BEARING WORLD Special Newsletter
The expert forum for bearings, focusing on rolling bearings!
12-13 April, 2016 in Hanover, Germany
Come to BEARING WORLD, the first international conference dedicated to bearings, with a focus on rolling bearings, sponsored by FVA e.V., the German Research Association for Drive Technology. Enter into dialogue with leading experts from around the world, including: China, Denmark, Germany, France, Great Britain, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey, and the USA.
Keep reading for comments from two of our keynote speakers.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bearing World.
Rolling bearings will continue to be an important part of the drive systems of the future, underlines Dr. Tobias Lösche-ter Horst, Head of Group Powertrain Research, Volkswagen AG, in his keynote:
“Rolling bearings are, and will remain, central machine elements. Continuous development is required to meet the challenges of future drivetrains. The goal is to find a balance between benefits, costs, wear and tear, and acoustic characteristics. We can achieve this through collective research.”
Now and in the future, it will be important to continue to optimise the performance of bearings.“To predict roller bearing performance, it is important to predict local oil film thickness and local pressure. These depend on almost a dozen parameters. As such it is difficult to generalize and predict performance. The current work shows that film thickness and pressure distribution can be described using the Hertz distribution as a reference, hence, the boundary layer behaviour can be precisely outlined“, explains Prof. Antonius Lubrecht, Institut National Des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) Lyon, France.
