The global race for technological innovation is an enormous challenge for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). They often lack the money and
personnel to maintain their own research and development department.
Research Projects
Industrial Collective Research (IGF) compensates for these structural disadvantages. Issues that pose challenges for the industry are tackled jointly with other companies, in cooperation with universities, federal and state research institutes and non-profit research organisations.
The risks are thus spread across all the organisations involved, and SMEs benefit from research results that they would not have been able to achieve on their own.
